The hot-air mini-airship Au-29 given a name of Chaffinch and developed in the Augur Aeronautical Centre successfully completed its first short-term trial flight. According to the pilot Mikhail Tisko, the aircraft is nice and easy in operation.
It was based on the hot-air tethered aerostat Au-26. This is a 1-seat airship with an engine mounting. In autonomous flight aircraft of this type may stay in the air up to 1 hour. Granting the low production cost and high reliability, the Augur's market researchers say the system based on the Au-29 airship may take a niche of a "people's airship" and find a ready market.
